Peptide therapy in the UK: what clinics actually offer
Peptides are short amino-acid chains used as injectable "signalling" drugs. A men's-health market has formed around them — and it is the least regulated corner of this entire directory. Read this page before spending anything.
What is being sold
- BPC-157, TB-500 — marketed for tissue/repair.
- CJC-1295, ipamorelin, sermorelin — growth-hormone secretagogues, marketed for recovery, sleep, body composition.
- Others (GHK-Cu, melanotan variants, "blends") — long-tail marketing claims.
The legal position in the UK
- Prescription peptides (a UK-licensed product, prescribed by a doctor, dispensed by a pharmacy) are the only legal route for injecting these substances into a human body.
- "Research chemicals" sold online "not for human use" — exactly what it says: they are not medicines, they are not licensed, and injecting them is self-experimentation with unverified purity. UK vendor SERPs for "bpc-157 uk" are full of them (our SERP evidence: 6/9 page-one results are grey vendors).
- The MHRA warns against unlicensed peptide products; the FDA moved several peptides between compounding categories in 2025–2026 — regulatory churn that says the risk profile is live, not settled.
What good clinics actually offer
A small set of peptides sourced from licensed UK compounding pharmacies, prescribed after bloods (IGF-1 tracking matters for GH secretagogues — over-stimulating GH has metabolic and cancer-risk implications). Expect £200–£800/month per compound where offered — a major cost on top of any TRT programme, and one where the evidence base is thin.
Our directory rule
We list clinics that prescribe peptides under medical supervision with published sourcing. We do not list or link retail "research chemical" vendors, and we never will — that is the single biggest trust test in this niche.
The honest evidence summary
- Human trials exist for a handful of these compounds (mostly small, mostly intravenous, mostly not in healthy men).
- Much of the marketing extrapolates from animal studies.
- Nobody should start any peptide without baseline bloods and a named prescriber.
